The Broncos are confident of retaining off-contract star Tevita Pangai Jnr, reports the Courier Mail.

The 23-year old is hot property, with a number of other clubs looking to poach the young gun, including the Sydney Roosters.

Following Cooper Cronk's retirement, the reigning premiers are better placed then ever before of making Pangai Jnr an enticing offer.

After re-signing Corey Oates and Joe Ofahengaue earlier this month, the Broncos must now move fast to secure the signature of Pangai Jnr.

It is understood that they are deep in talks with the powerhouse's manager, who also represents Brisbane coach Anthony Seibold and a number of his teammates.

The Broncos are reportedly comfortable with their position in talks with Pangai Jnr, even amid Cronk's retirement.

Pangai Jnr told the Courier Mail earlier in the week that if he wanted to go to South Sydney, he would have followed Wayne Bennett instead of re-signing with the Broncos for one season.

“I actually supported Seibs (Seibold as a coaching candidate) to come to the Broncos,’’ he said.

  1. I don’t believe they are interested in him. Money from the retiring Cronk, half is spent already on Mitchells new contract extension in topping up his 550k contract already. With 400k still in under the cap now plus the other 500 of Cronk money I think could be invested wisely on a centre if Mitchell is moved to the 5/8 position or a half.

Although the rumor refuses to go away about Gerge Burgess wanting to link up with a professional team like the Sydney Roosters who play in their own district unlike soufffffffffffffs 💪🐔👍 = = = 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
