Penrith Panthers centre Waqa Blake has signed a four-year contract extension with the club.

Blake will now remain in Panthers colours until the end of the 2023 NRL premiership season.

The 23-year-old is of Fijian decadence and was raised in Western Australia before moving to the eastern seaboard to join the Panthers in 2013, where he enjoyed immediate success winning the premiership with the NYC side.

2014 saw Blake be apart of Penrith's successful NSW Cup premiership team and made his NRL debut the following year.

The centre has currently made 78 appearances for the Panthers with 33 tries, and his form earned him a call up for the NSW City Origin side in 2015 as well as making his test debut for Fiji in 2017.

Blake told the club's website he is delighted to commit to the club for a longer period of time.

"I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to commit my future to the club," Blake told penrithpanthers.com.au.

"Panthers is home for me now and I really couldn't see myself playing anywhere else.

"I love the Panthers fans, I love my teammates and I love the culture we have here at the club.

"I've got a lot of belief in this team and what we can achieve over the next few years."

In 2017, Blake had 16 appearances for the club, scoring 16 tries, making 66 tackle breaks and tallying up a total of 1501 running metres.

Panthers Executive General Manager Phil Gould believes players such as Blake are the future of the club and will stear them in the right direction over the next few seasons.

"Waqa Blake is an outstanding young man and a tremendous success story for our club," Gould said.

"He graduated from the Panthers development system to establish himself as an important member of our NRL team.

"Waqa is fast developing into one of the most dangerous attacking players in the NRL.

"We firmly believe he is a representative player of the future and we are excited to know he will be with us for at least the next five seasons."
