Wests Tigers veteran Benji Marshall has re-signed with the club for the 2020 season.

The 34-year old will extend his career into an 18th campaign, which is set to put him in the top 20 all-time games played list in the NRL.

Marshall said the direction of the club under Maguire motivated him to put pen to paper.

"Officially, about an hour ago, I can announce I signed for another year with the Tigers," Marshall told Fox League on Saturday night.

"I thought our club has put some good things in place and I like the direction the club is going under Madge [coach Michael Maguire] and I'm looking forward to it."

Marshall begun his NRL career at the Tigers where he played from 2003-2013.

He enjoyed stints at St George Illawarra and the Broncos before re-joining the Wests in 2018.

Marshall returned to some of his best form in the 2019 season, recording 17 try assists and 14 line break assists in 19 games and also forced 13 dropouts.

  1. Are you kidding West’s? I know he’s played well in 2019. How about just cutting the ties & looking for a new 5/8th? Are the lower grade halves that bad? Shouldn’t they get to play first grade some year?
