Wests Tigers have today announced the termination of Taane Milne from the club.

Milne has had a second contravention under the NRL’s Illicit Drugs Policy, the first contravention occurring at another club and this second infringement occurring at Wests Tigers.

After due process and full consideration, and in collaboration with the NRL’s Illicit Drug Policy guidelines, the club has made the decision to terminate Milne’s playing contract.

His behaviour contradicts the values, behaviours and culture being created at the club.

Wests Tigers have committed to providing Milne with support and counselling during this challenging time.

  1. Ok, this explains why the Dragons let him go – which was a surprise to many fans as Milne has football talent. The guy is clearly a drongo. He came to the Dragons, and presumably to the Tigers, on the recommendation of Benji. So Milne has let Marshall down as well as himself.

  2. That is a pity for the Tigers. Milne looks a very good player. I wondered why he wasn’t in first grade.
Makes you wonder if St.George knew of his problems & didn’t report on them in years past?
That’s a couple of good players gone for drug use in the last couple of weeks , with Phythian gone as well.

    • Apparently he failed a drug test at dragons so this is his second time caught out. As others have said no wonder dragons let such a good talent go, crying shame. Hope he gets his head right. Until then with his drug problems no doubt a good fit for Manly or or Rorters.
