The New Zealand Warriors have pulled out of the race to sign Canberra Raiders outside back Sebastian Kris.

Kris is contracted to the Raiders until the end of the 2027 season, however, Canberra has given the 27-year-old permission to explore his options before November 1 for an immediate move.

The Warriors had initially expressed interest in Kris following the departure of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, with the club keen to bolster its outside-back depth ahead of the 2027 season.

However, The Daily Telegraph has now revealed the Warriors have backed out of the race for the versatile outside back.

Kris has made just 15 appearances for the Raiders this season, with injury playing a role in limiting his opportunities.

The 27-year-old has ultimately struggled to cement a regular position in Canberra's first-grade side, with his last consecutive appearances coming in Rounds 16 and 17.

Despite his recent struggles for a consistent spot, Kris has considerable NRL experience, having made 124 appearances since making his first-grade debut for the Raiders in 2019.

With the Warriors no longer pursuing his signature, the Gold Coast Titans are understood to be continuing to monitor Kris' situation.

The Raiders have a number of other players with uncertain futures as they look to finalise their squad for the coming seasons.

Jed Stuart, Jake Clydsdale, Michael Asomua and Vena Patuki-Case remain off contract for 2026, while Myles Martin, Matty Nicholson, Ethan Sanders, Xavier Savage, Tom Starling, Chevy Stewart and Hudson Young will all be free to test the open market from November 1.
