Gold Coast Titans halfback Zane Harrison has an interesting asking price if he leaves the club at the end of his contract in 2027.
New details have surfaced about the contract talks between Harrison and the Titans.
Harrison's manager, Sam Ayoub, believes he can get the 20-year-old $900,000 per season on his contract if he leaves the Titans.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Gold Coast have been willing to sign Harrison for $600,000 per season.
Negotiations have been eager to upgrade their star halfback's contract for next year as well.
PNG Chiefs were previously linked to having Harrison on their target list and continue to be interested in his services if he goes to market.
Currently, the Titans' salary cap sheet is tight, with significant contracts to Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, Jayden Campbell, Keano Kini and AJ Brimson.
Brimson has been given permission to leave the club and is open to joining the Chiefs in 2028.
However, the Chiefs want to pay $750,000 for Brimson, not the Titans' asking price of $950,000.
The versatile backline star is currently on a $1.1 million-per-season deal until his contract expires at the end of 2033.
PNG Chiefs' offer is $200,000 less than the Titans' asking price.
The 28-year-old has been offered to current NRL clubs; however, he may not want to leave the club.
Harrison has played 11 games in his rookie season for the club, after suffering a high-grade hamstring injury in August.
The Tweed Heads product has been in the Titans system since he was 15 years old and made his NRL debut in Round 10 against the Sydney Roosters.
Harrison also represented New South Wales at Under-19 State of Origin level before breaking into first grade.
One of the highlights of his debut season came in Round 16, when he kicked the winning field goal in the Titans' 19-18 win over the Penrith Panthers.
This season, Harrison made 7 line-break assists, 6 try assists, 241 tackles (21.9 per game) at 90.3% efficiency, and 9 tackle breaks, while also averaging 50.8 receipts per game.
