We're already a month into the NRL season for 2017 and as per usual, we're not short of storylines.

With rugby being played four out of the seven days in the week, we're always looking ahead to what's to come and more big games await us in Round 5!

Bulldogs vs Broncos

The Bulldogs are in need of playmakers soย the news of Moses Mbye's suspension won't be music to the ears of Des Hasler this week. Mbye admitted heย is a makeshiftย halfback and the Dogs' fans certainly know it. Early mail suggests Matt Frawley will get the nod.

The Broncos meanwhile head to ANZ stadium with a reasonably clean bill of health following their one-point win against Canberra and should go in unchanged. Benji Marshall produced a solid performance for Redcliffe last week and may be a chance to return to the NRL fold.

Roosters vsย Sea Eagles

Jake Friend will return to the Roosters line-up for their clash against Manly on Friday night after having his teeth knocked out in Round 3.

Lloyd Perrett becomes available for Manly however it's unlike they'll make changes following a Daly Cherry-Evans led masterclass against the Bulldogs.

Cowboys vs Rabbitohs

The Cowboys young brigade steered them to a win against the Titans last week and will welcome back Dally M medallist Jason Taumalolo from suspension as well as fullback Lachlan Coote from a torn calf muscle. There is sure to be a few selection headaches for Paul Green as their replacements have done more than an adequate job in their absence.

Braidon Burns returns for Souths following a one-week suspension, while Sam Burgess remains questionable for the clash with the Cowboys after suffering a concussion against the Roosters.

Sharks vs Knights

Wade Graham suffered an ankle injury against the Eels however he did manage to run out the game. Shane Flanagan said he might need X-rays on it but felt he should be good to go against the Knights this weekend.

The Knights, meanwhile, had a pair of concussion worries of their own, however, both Jacob Saifiti and Danny Levi returned to play out the game. The 40-0 loss could spring a few changes to the 17 with Brendan Elliot to return following a concussion in Round 3.

Raiders vs Eels

Raiders hooker Josh Hodgson is racing the clock to be fit after suffering a sternum injury against the Broncos. Ricky Stuart has said they won't risk their star hooker with Adam Clydesdale filling his boots nicely last weekend. Elliot Whitehead will miss the match after being suspended for a week following a tripping incident. Dave Taylor remains in the wings, vying for a return to first grade.

Tepai Moeroa comes back into the Eels fold following a one-week suspension for a shoulder charge and should replace Siosaia Vave in the 17.

Storm vs Panthers

Christian Welch and Jordan McLean will be named for the Storm against the Panthers however neither are certainties for the clash. Welsh suffered a concussion last week against the Tigers, while McLean is recovering from a calf knock suffered against the Broncos two weeks ago.

The Panthers should welcome back star forwardย Bryce Cartwright following an ankle injury in Round 2ย at the expense of Corey Harawira-Naera.

Warriors vs Titans

The much-anticipated debut of Kieran Foran was put on hold after a hamstring scare in the warm-up last week and it may have to wait another week as he faces a race against the clock to be fit for the clash with the Titans. Veteran Manu Vatuvei returns for the home side, while Ben Matulino is in line for his 2017 debut following a knee injury.

The Titans' co-captain Ryan James could miss their clash with the Warriors if he is found guilty by the NRL judiciary on Tuesday night. James could miss two games if he is found guilty while Agnatius Paasi has come up fit from a shoulder knock on Saturday night.

Wests Tigers vs Dragons

Wests Tigers will be without Luke Brooks after he suffered a hamstring injury against Melbourne. Joel Edwards remains in doubt following a concussion, however, in some positive news, Matt Ballin will return for the Tigers after recovering from a knee injury.

The Dragons seem to be defying all odds both on and off the field with their 3-1 start. Matt Dufty appears set for a return to the fold after suffering a knee injury in the pre season. Given his lack of playing time, he could spend a week in the reserves before seeing his first minutes of first grade for 2017.
