Shaun Kenny-Dowall has escaped conviction after pleading guilty to drug possession.

His lawyer entered the guilty plea in court this morning, relating to his arrest at a Sydney nightclub in early May.

Kenny-Dowall escaped conviction after Magistrate Gregory Grogin handed a 12-month good behaviour bond to the 29-year-old.

The New Zealand international was released by the Sydney Roosters earlier this month and has been linked with a move to the Newcastle Knights before the June 30 deadline.

English Super League Salford have also been rumoured to be interested in throwing him a lifeline.
