South Sydney coach Anthony Seibold has circled the Rabbioths' clash with Brisbane in Round 23 as Greg Inglis' return match from injury.

Inglis suffered a broken thumb against the Cowboys in Round 16, and was slated for a six-week injury layoff.

Inglis' recovery seems to be on track, with Seibold suggesting he'll return right on six weeks.

"He's going really good he's been doing all his running at the side of the field, he's in the gym at the moment training, we expect him back for the Broncos game," Seibold to the media on Friday.

"It's six weeks recovery, and I think the Broncos game will be six weeks and three days.

"We're not playing games in or around that, we need to make sure it's healed, and the surgeon tells us it's a six week injury, so he won't quite get the Roosters game in, it'll be the Broncos.

"It'll be great [to get him back], it's a good rest for him as well. Physically he's in great nick... he's looking really good and strong, and he's excited about getting back into the team.

Inglis is still set to miss the Rabbitohs' upcoming clashes with the Eels, Storm and Roosters.
