Gold Coast are reportedly shopping star halfback Ash Taylor, with the 24-year-old having potentially already played his last game for the Titans.

Taylor has only played one game since round 12 after taking a leave of absence from the club, to deal with his mental health and wellbeing.

Channel 7's Chris Garry reported the news on Thursday night, suggesting clubs have already inquired about Taylor's availability.

Taylor is currently on a deal in excess of $1 million a season, although the Titans could help another club fit him into their salary cap by subsiding his salary.

Garry went on to tweet out that the Dragons, Roosters or Tigers could be good homes for the halfback.

  1. Rabbitohs17, you must be thinking of Cronulla, they don’t care about the caps and stuff that other clubs care about.

  2. Only a couple of years ago I had him as the Qld halfback. The NRL should look into how the system creates the situation he finds himself in. I wish him all the best and hope to see him in first grade for a long time.

  3. @iloveaqueenslander – Ash Taylor doesn’t live up to your ridiculously lofty expectations & it is the NRL’s fault.

    Give me a break !!!

He just isn’t as good as you thought/hoped he was. End of Story.

  4. Taylor to the Cowboys, Morgan and Taylor QLD combo. Cowboys definitely have a good chuck of cap space to take on Taylor

  5. so does that mean the other club would have to sign him for around $1mill (even with the Titans paying some of it? )
Or could another club offer him lower, and the Titans cover all of it?
    how does this work?
