Former rugby league star Jarryd Hayne it set to switch codes to soccer, reports the Sunday Telegraph.

It is understood that the 31-year old has been registered for a Central Coast club side, where he has been living.

It marks Hayne's fourth football code, after stints in rugby league, NFL and rugby union sevens.

He has reportedly been registered for East Gosford division eight men’s open team and could play as early as Sunday against Ourimbah.

Highlights of the former Eel and Titan's career include two Dally M player of the year  awards and 23 Origins for NSW, 11 Tests for the Kangaroos and 10 Tests for Fiji.

Hayne appeared in court last month to face a second allegation he caused actual bodily harm during an alleged rape of a Hunter Valley woman.

  1. I would think that this is a code switch. You dont need to be a great player to play division 8. Sounds like a bit of pub football with mates to stay fit. Good on him i say.
