The Canberra Raiders have won their first match of 2018 but it has come at a heavy cost with Sam Williams suffering a knee injury and a number of other players still to be assessed.

Williams was forced from the field late in the game after taking a hit to his knee.

Scans have revealed medial ligament injury which will see him miss 4-6 weeks of football.

The Raiders also had four players leave the during the game for head injury assessments.

Luke Bateman, Ata Hingano, Michael Oldfield and Aidan Sezer will undergo assessments this week but are expected to be available for round six.
