One player has been charged by the NRL judiciary following Week 3 of the NRL trials.

Newcastle Knights forward Herman Ese'ese was hit with a grade one dangerous contact charge for a late hit on Parramatta Eels half Mitchell Moses.

The charge has a base penalty of 100 points, which accounts for a one-week suspension.

Ese'ese can avoid suspension by entering an early guilty plea though, with the no prior offences or carry over points on his record.

Ese'ese would miss the Knights' Round 1 match against the Manly Sea Eagles should he unsuccessfully challenge the charge.
