The NRL has confirmed game three of the 2019 State of Origin series will follow on from the opening two contests, employing the same referees for the deciding clash in Sydney next Wednesday.

Once again, Gerard Sutton and Ashley Klein will referee the match.

Alongside the duo will be Nick Beashel and Chris Butler as touch judges, while Jared Maxwell and Ben Galea will both be in the bunker.

"This is the biggest game of the year to date," NRL Head of Football Elite Competitions Graham Annesley told nrl.com.

"We need our best and most experienced match officials in the company of the best and most experienced players.

"Both referees have officiated well through the series so far and they will bring consistency to the series, which will help both teams."

Sutton and Klein have officiated 23 Origins between them (including the last five), as well as more than 600 top-level rugby league matches throughout their careers.

  1. Why hasn’t Sutton’s younger brother got a gig on the sidelines? Should have kept it in family, as usual.
