“I‘d love to stay at Parramatta, I’ve already told them that,” Mitchell Moses told Fox Sports.

The news comes after captain Clint Gutherson and coach Brad Arthur re-signed in the space of two days until at least the 2022 season (Gutherson's contract extends three seasons).

“I’ve let the club know I do want to stay but I’ve left it up to my management and Parramatta to sort it out, that’s their job to do the contract stuff and my job is to play footy," Moses said.

These comments come following a 64-10 loss to Melbourne. But it may be precisely why there was a delay in signing a new deal.

“Right after the game my next thing wasn’t to call my manager and ask what’s happening, it was to get back to training and work out what went wrong and how we can fix it," Moses said.

But he also said of the loss that he won't be putting a "deadline" on the contract, he wants to focus on the play of the team first.

Moses spoke on how the signings of both the captain and coach will give a boost to the players knowing that both men will remain with the side for the foreseeable future.

It will be evident if these signings actually gave a boost to the club as the Eels head to Townsville to face North Queensland on Saturday.
