Melbourne Storm star Nelson Asofa-Solomona is under investigation by the NRL Integrity Unit after being involved in a wild brawl in Bali.

Vision emerged on Sunday night showing the forward caught up in the heated altercation while on holiday, throwing punches on the streets in the middle of a busy crowd.

The Storm reportedly asked him to fly home immediately after becoming aware of the incident, with the 23-year old arriving in Melbourne on Monday morning.

Asofa-Solomona will meet with Storm bosses on Monday and will speak to the NRL Integrity Unity to help with the investigation

The Storm released thew following statement on its club website on Sunday night.

"Melbourne Storm has reported an incident involving a member of our NRL squad currently on holidays in Bali to the NRL’s Integrity Unit," the statement read.

"Storm has launched a full investigation into what has occurred.

"Storm takes these type of incidents very seriously and will not be making any further public comment at this time.”

An NRL spokesperson said: "Melbourne Storm advised the NRL Integrity Unit of an incident involving a player on holidays Bali".

"The Integrity Unit is working with both the Storm and the player to determine what has happened. The Integrity Unit takes these matters very seriously."

  1. Shame Shame Shame.. I feel so sorry for the innocent families of bystanders to witness such a thug in action., they all must have feared for their lives. If any of those wild reverse hammer punches had of connected, there would have been a fatality for sure. Another dark bleak day for the NRL, & a further major blight on Bali tourism & Australians as unruly tourists. This will hurt.

  2. He will get a 1 week suspension and $2000 fine.

    If he played for the Bulldogs he would be scratched for next season and the club would be fined $500,000. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

  3. The story I read was that someone hit Vunivalu, and I assume he wasn’t alone, and Nelson stepped it. If that’s the case, then move on, nothing to see here as far as I’m concerned.
    I’m sure there are any number of people out there that think (especially with sherbies under the belt) they can be heros by stirring up/hitting players because the players can’t (have too much to lose) hit back. If this is such a case, I don’t have a problem with it, and would go a step further, as say well done.
