Luke Walsh will look to resurrect his NRL career with the Newcastle Knights in 2017.

Walsh has spent the last three seasons plying his trade in the Super League for St Helens but is keen to return to Australia. Walsh and his wife have two young children and are keen to move back home closer to family and support.

Current Knights coach Nathan Brown was also in charge at St Helens when Walsh made the move overseas and is a strong reason why he's looking to sign with the Knights now.

There have been suggestions that Jarrod Mullen could make a move to hooker in 2017, opening a spot for Walsh to partner Trent Hodkinson in the halves.

A Newcastle junior, Walsh debuted for the Knights in 2007 and played a total of 13 games for them before moving to the Penrith Panthers.
