Newcastle Knights prop Daniel Saifiti has extended his deal at the club for a further two seasons

The new deal ties the front rower at the Knights until the end of the 2022 season in a major coup for Adam O'Brien's side.

“I’m so grateful for the faith the Club has shown in me,” Saifiti told newcastleknights.com.au.

“While there have been some tough times, we showed improvement this season and are getting better.

“We’ve signed some quality players in recent times and that has certainly helped with my development.

“I owe a lot to this club. My brother Jacob and I came here as teenagers to play 20s and I’ve been living my dream ever since.

“We have something special here and a talented group of guys. I’m excited for what the future holds, not only for myself and my teammates but for our loyal fans. That’s why I re-signed.”

The 23-year old has notched 85-first games for the club after making his NRL debut in 2016.

Knights CEO Mr Philip Gardner added: “Daniel is still only young but shows a maturity beyond his years.

“He’s a wonderful young man and exceptional player.

“This season we saw him take a giant step forward in developing into the player we all know he can become.

“His form deservedly saw him selected to play in two games for NSW in what was a successful State of Origin series.

“Those rewards are a result of his hard work and consistency.

“We believe his best is still to come which is very exciting, not only for Daniel but for the Club.”

  1. Another player not interested in going to the sombrero mafia.
The cluckers tried to buy both brothers a couple of years ago.

  2. I doubt it another fantasy comment from TWlT0NES apprentice the SpacemanFromParkes alias EastOdDivide.
Those brothers would not make Norths team.
    Bwahahahaha

  3. The Roosters last few season have had four test props to rotate in JWH, Tetevano, Liu, and Taukeiaho plus excellent backup with Collins and Fammausilli, l think Ben Hudson has an accurate point of view.

Sydney have no need of the Saifiti Brothers. They along with Klemmer and the rest of the Newcastle pack, on paper looked like top four material but could not reach the final eight. While the Roosters pack is the best in the world two years running.
