Penrith has released a statement regarding the departure of Executive General Manager Phil Gould.

The Panthers' GM of rugby league has been at the club since 2011, but will now leave his position.

The following statement has been made by Penrith CEO Brian Fletcher.

“This morning Panthers Chairman Dave O’Neill and myself met with Phil Gould to discuss his position at the club.

“Phil was adamant that his position as Executive General Manager Rugby League has become redundant and his time at Panthers is at an end.

“While there will be opportunity for further reflection once matters are formalised, I wish to acknowledge the extraordinary impact Phil has had on this club since returning as Executive General Manager in 2011.

“The Panthers Board will meet tomorrow to discuss the potential terms of Gould’s departure from Panthers.”

  1. Has he really done that much? No premiership, sacked coaches and according to Buzz, the club is in financial trouble.

  2. The only person I feel for is Griffin, got the $hit stick big time by Gus and things have gone rapidly downhill since that moment. Just one of a billion power trip moments by Gussy boy that have ended poorly

  3. Being 70 kms away from the Big smoke of Sydney has the bloke heading home to the Roosters. He has given Mr Politis a list of players worth buying from Penrith Juniors. When Nick looked at the Sheet, it was empty. Phil pipped up and said I have been there for nine years and there is no talent in the place that could fit into the Roosters professional outfit. They are like soufffffths. They think they produce all these so called superstar home bred juniors, but they are mainly flops. To good for their junior clubs but fall short of NRL STARDOM. Nick said thanks Phil. Job well done.🔫😎👎

  4. Oh dear, I see that you’re still intrigued by me? Should I be flattered? Gus had done a wonderful job in saving the club. By the way, I’m not responding to you again. Panthers18, formally Panthers Girl.

  5. I love club statements…their main objective is to conceal the truth!.

So last year in 2018, when the ‘Riff were certainties semi final bound and red hot premiership contenders, Gould and the ‘Riff Board saw fit to offer Gould a 5 year deal to stick around, enjoy the hard work and win a premiership …fast forward 7 months and the “Riff have a new coach who has no moral face and battling to score points from their million dollar halfback, are struggling to win games and Gould says its time to go as he has achieved everything @ “Riff….mate your team have gone backwards, why are you jumping ship?..or more likely has Iv pushed you!

  6. The rorters should be audited by the nrl cmon nrl stop turning a blind eye to their brown paper bags being distributed illegally wink wink wink cough cough cough stop the corrupt rorters club from rorting the system…

  7. Anyone see him on tv on monday.Obvious by how he was talking about parra you knew he was gone. You dont talk your rivals up like he did unless you are out

  8. Has he done any better than any other clubs Football manager??? I don’t think so.

I would say that the Football Managers of Roosters, Shrks, Storm etc have all done a better job.

No premierships & nothing to show for the ‘great work’.

    A total flop really.
