Jarryd Hayne has agreed to return to the Parramatta Eels on a one-year contract for 2018.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Hayne has shaken hands with Brad Arthur and the board.

The Eels are said to be offering Hayne $500,000 as he looks to reinvigorate his career.

The Dally M Medal winner won't formally request a release from the Gold Coast club though until late December in order to claim 'holiday pay' for November and December totalling $90,000 per month.

Hayne could lose up to $180,000 if he was to ask — and be granted — an immediate release from the Titans.

Preoccupied with Fiji duties, the 28-year old continues to deny suggestions that he wants out of Gold Coast.

"I have NOT instructed my manger (sic) to SPEAK to teams in Sydney," Hayne tweeted earlier in the month.

Eels head coach Brad Arthur was also circumspect about the possibility of signing Hayne.

“If Jarryd wants to come and play on our terms and if he gets released, we’ll obviously be looking at it. We’ll see what happens."
