Melbourne Storm fullback Jahrome Hughes has been cleared of serious injury to his shoulder but will still miss the start of the season.

Hughes injured the shoulder during last Friday night’s Testimonial match at Suncorp Stadium

Scans have cleared him of any serious damage to his right shoulder and it won't require surgery.

Recovery though will take 4-6 weeks.

In good news for the Storm, Suliasi Vunivalu, Jesse Bromwich and Billy Slater who were rested from the match against the Cowboys are all expected to line-up for Round 1.
