Parramatta star Jarryd Hayne will not be offered a position on one of the New Zealand Super Rugby teams ahead of next year's World Cup, according to a report by the NZ Herald.

New Zealand's five Super Rugby squads are set to be unveiled on Wednesday, and the Blues will not select Hayne, while the Chiefs, Hurricanes, Crusaders or Highlanders are also unlikely to do so.

The 30-year old's career is currently in limbo with salary cap issues set to squeeze him out of the Eels.

Hayne is keen to play for Fiji at the World Cup in Japan next year, having suffered an indifferent 2018 season.

The former San Francisco 49er returned to the Eels last season but struggled through form and injury issues.

Several French rugby leagues have reportedly reached out to Hayne's management, which is looming to be his likely destination in 2019.
