The partners of Gold Coast Titans players Sam Verrills and Jaimin Jolliffe have both taken a stab at the club on their way out the door.
Verrills and Jolliffe were both part of the departing players list at the end of 2026.
Jolliffe has already signed a new deal to continue his career in the English Super League, while Verrills has been in talks with other NRL clubs including the Canterbury Bulldogs, but is yet to secure his future.
Despite the fact the hooker, who originally progressed through the Sydney Roosters system before making the move to Robina, doesn't have a deal for next year, his partner in a now deleted caption on social media wrote "Thank god that's over."
Verrills has fallen down the pecking order at the Titans this year, and with Oliver Pascoe now seemingly the club's future at dummy half alongside Luke Sommerton, there was no room for Verrills to remain a Titan.
Given the response though of Verrills' partner Teagan Parker, there may have been more than meets the eye to his departure.
And Verrills wasn't the only one.
Jolliffe's wife Tia commented on the post "Hallelujah", before Parker responsed with "No more Titans, hallelujah."
Jolliffe has spent the entirety of this season sidelined with an ACL injury, but will join the Super League on a long-term deal from the start of 2027.
A valuable contributor during his time on the Gold Coast, there is little doubt the club have missed his presence in the engine room this year as they began yet another rebuild, this time under the coaching of Josh Hannay.
Verrills, who worked with Mal Meninga previously while he was involved with the club, was also thought of as a good chance of landing in Perth, but that has since become unlikely with other signings.
The hooker's move to the Bulldogs falling apart means he is now scrambling to find a new home for 2027, although a number of clubs could still do with improvement in their dummy half depth.
