Rabbitohs forward George Burgess has been charged by the Match Review Committee following Friday night's clash with the Brisbane Broncos.

Burgess has been charged with a grade two shoulder charge from a 63rd-minute incident involving Broncos player Anthony Milford. The base penalty for this charge is 350 points.

Burgess has two prior non-similiar offences in the last two years which results in a 40% loading on the charge.

If Burgess takes the early guilty plea he will accrue 367 points plus an additional 60 carry over points and miss the following four matches.

If he fights the charge and loses he will accrue 490 points plus an additional 60 carry over points and miss the following five matches. If he fights the charge and wins he will be free to play against the Sea Eagles next week.
