Rabbitohs hooker Robbie Farah could be sent back to the Wests Tigers, allowing the veteran to finish his career where it started.

The 34-year old has made contact with Tigers coach Ivan Cleary about the prospect of bringing him over before the June 30 transfer deadline, according to a report by Fairfax Media.

South Sydney are reportedly open to facilitate a deal with the Tigers, which would only hold Farah there until the end of the season.

There are still some hurdles to jump though, given Farah's toxic fallout with the club when he departed at the end of the 2016 season. A return would first have to be ticked off by the Tigers' board.

Since Farah's departure the Tigers have struggled to fill the void left in the No. 9 jersey. Pita Godinet, Jacob Liddle, Elijah Taylor, Matt McIlwrick and Josh Reynolds have all gotten their chance at different stages, but adding the two-time Dally M hooker could seriously bolster their finals chances.

Farah has only played two games for the Rabbitohs this season, with coach Anthony Seibold favouring Damien Cook as the team's starting hooker. His last appearance was in Round 14, when Cook missed due to Origin commitments.

The Tigers will soon be bolstered by the services of fullback Moses Mbye, who is set for an immediate transfer to the club after signing a four-year deal which was supposed to start in 2019.
