The Bulldogs have announced the signature of Melbourne Storm forward Joe Stimson on a three-year deal.

Stimson will remain a Bulldog until the end of the 2022 season, after crossing over following 41 games for the Storm between 2017-2019.

The 23-year-old featured in the grand final last year, but has only played twice in 2019.

"Although he is still only 23, Joe has already got some big-game experience under his belt with the Storm and we feel that he will be a great addition to our forwards," Bulldogs coach Dean Pay told the club's website.

"We have a very young side in terms of age and NRL games, so to add someone with Joe's talent and winning attitude will be a big boost for us moving forward and I know that everyone is excited about what he can bring."

  1. Ok Im stumped. Stimson is a potentially a good player BUT

The dogs have virtually no attack,
    No decent centers
    No spark from hooker,
An abundance of second rowers instead of trying to bolster the weak positions we have, what does Dean do…. buy another second rower,

His selection and purchasing choices baffle me when I watch CC and see CHN, To’omoga Morgan Harper Lewis all playing reserves (Maybe Lewis should be moved into the centers or lock) and he continues to pick stripper boy Elliot who runs like a lost headless chook.

So who departs for the dragons is it RFM or Martin?
Once again maybe Dean should depart as well

  2. The Bulldogs are clueless. Dean Pay knows himself he can’t hack the NRL and the only way to keep his job is look like he is try to rebuild the club. The club has some decent young players but the very last position they need to be getting youngsters for in second row. The club already has Josh Jackson, RFM, CHN, Sueaso Sue, Rhyse Martin, Adam Elliot, Tooumanga and others.
Don’t get me wrong Stimson is promising and with some game time and development he could be pretty good but he’s hardly going to do much with all these players in the same position. He was better off going to Manly, Titans, or Penrith.

  3. 100% agree was hoping dean would let the right kids have a go like Harper, get us a new hooker few hard running props but nope another second rower 😞.
I’d be asking when Shane Flanagan’s exiles up get him onboard

  4. Also agree how is Elliot even playing first grade the back row should be Jackson chn & rfm at lock elliot doesn’t even warrant a bench spot
