Jack de Belin's lawyers are prepared to appeal the Federal Court's decision to support the NRL's no-fault stand-down policy.

The St. George Illawarra forward's lawyers claim the NRL failed to provide evidence that existing sponsors threatened to pull out because of a player being charged with a criminal offence.

The 30-page outline to appeal also suggests the NRL could have removed de Belin from the NRL player marketing fund, banning him from representative games and promotional events instead of banning him from the league.

De Belin was stood down in February after he was charged for aggravated sexual assault.

De Belin pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault following an incident including himself and a friend on December 9 in Wollongong.

De Belin's camp also questioned the inconsistencies in penalties between the automatic stand-down policy and their discretionary decisions.

The 28-year-old is believed to have been refused the right to appeal, compared to Dylan Walker and Tyrone May.

Walker was later re-instated after being found not guilty of domestic charges.

  1. It’s an absolute joke that he might get off. Not sure what the solicitor was thinking to be honest. Between all the evidence, her initial statement to Police and the witness to the assault, makes you wonder what she was thinking. Even though the victim was by herself, the evidence there will be enough to get it across the line.

  2. He’s probably feeling very lucky to be on the sidelines anyway after the embarrassing effort last Sunday night.
I’ll never give up hope for the Dragons but they need a serious attitude change if they think they can even win one more game before seasons end.
I understand why we keep Dufty and Ravalawa in the team but maybe it’s time to think differently and change it up a little.
Probably Duftys last game anyway because Norman will go to fullback when Widdop returns.
    When is Lomax back?
    Cheers

  3. In all probability…it is irrelevant who returns for saint illwarrior, they ….are hopelessly in a bottomless pit… hence, their season is over.

Therefore in two weeks time…..whence the walking dead Saints, play my beloved Transit Lounge Rabbitohs…. without the Burgess grubs. We at our fake nomad home….will nail the final nail, into St Illawarriors coffin.🤣😂😁🤣
