The Brisbane Broncos have confirmed Hayze Perham will remain with the club in 2027.

Originally off-contract at the end of this year, the backline utility who can play any of centre, wing or fullback has been around the fringes for much of the year at Red Hill.

With Brisbane preparing for the loss of Grant Anderson and Gehamat Shibasaki, he could well see an increased role next year with the club also working to push youngsters Antonio Verhoeven and Phillip Coates through their system.

Perham has been with the Broncos since the start of 2025, but suffered an ACL rupture that ruined last year.

“I'm very happy, ever since I came to the club I've enjoyed every moment,” Perham said of his re-signing.

“I was very lucky to have my family, support system, and the boys around me through that hard time [rehabilitating an ACL injury], it was a tough one but they made it enjoyable and I'm so grateful for them.

“The connection that the boys have here is very special and something that I hold pretty close to me, I enjoy every day, coming in and seeing them.

"I want to stay as healthy as I can, have a great pre-season and get back on the field in 2027 to make an impact… and make it back to finals.

Perham has managed to play five NRL games this year, having made his comeback from the ACL injury in Round 7.

He is now the replacement at the back for the Broncos with Reece Walsh out for the remainder of the year with a syndesmosis injury.

Prior to his arrival in Brisbane, Perham's best season came in 2023 when he played 19 games with the Broncos, while he also had 7 games with the Eels across 2021 and 2022, and 9 with the Warriors across 2019 and 2020.

“To rehab an ACL injury in your first season at a new club is a significant challenge, but Hayze went about it in a really diligent and professional way,” the club's general manager of football operations Troy Thompson said.
