North Queensland are preparing to launch a massive offer to secure Cronulla star Valentine Holmes.

According to The Courier Mail,ย the Cowboys will offer a deal in the region of $3.6 million over three or four seasons to entice the Townsville-born Holmes back north.

North Queensland head-of-football Peter Parr confirmed the Cowboys interest in Holmes.

โ€œWe were waiting to see if Holmes was still available come November 1 and now that he is, we will have a discussion with his management,โ€ Parr told The Courier Mail.ย 

โ€œWe will certainly be making contact with his management, Chris and Gavin Orr, and we will see where it takes us."

The 23-year-old is considering returning to Queensland to be closer to family.

Cronulla are believed to have offered Holmes a five-year extension worth over $4 million.
