On the eve of another Grand Final with Melbourne, Courier Mail reporter Peter Badel has told NRL 360 that Storm skipper Cameron Smith wants to sign a one-year extension with the Victorian club, taking his deal to the end of the 2019 season.

“He is determined to stay at the Melbourne Storm until the end of 2019,” Badel said.

“I’ve spoken to Cameron and he says the way his body feels, the form that he’s in, he’s considering another 12 months in the NRL.

“If he does that he would play 400 games, amazing stuff.”
