Canberra’s Hudson Young has been handed an eight-match ban for his eye-gouge on Warrior Adam Pompey.

It’s the second time Young has been banned for an eye-gouge this season, after an incident earlier this year on Aiden Tolman saw him miss five games.

The suspension is one of the longest in the NRL in recent years.

  1. I agree with Ricky Stuart in that I don’t think he really did eye gauge the guy but he did go in for a second dig at a facial and if you’re going to do that, then you’re going to have to face the consequences of it looking like gauging and being charged accordingly. I wasn’t too impressed with scraping your fingers across the face in the first dig, either.

Deserved, but probably didn’t actually set out to gauge him. Seems like he’s just someone who is addicted to the facial, which should be stamped out of the game.
