Penrith General Manager Phil Gould has reportedly left his post at the Panthers, after his side's poor start to the season.

The Panthers have begun the season 2-4, and Gould has reportedly informed the club of his decision on Tuesday.

MORE TO COME.

  1. I love how he thinks his mission is compelete. Unless it was to spend 9 years at the most over-rated club in the last 9 years and achieve absolutely nothing, then yes raging success.

  2. Where exactly does Gus say โ€œmy mission is completeโ€???
    You are an imbecile daffy!
If Gus hadnโ€™t joined the club so many years ago and we were having the exact conversation about relocating clubs like we have been recently then Panthers wouldโ€™ve been top of that list to relocate.
Gus has made sure that the club is stable for at least another 10, 20 years. Sure he hasnโ€™t bought a title to Penrith but he has still done a lot for a club that was on the verge of
    Bankruptcy before he joined.

  3. I canโ€™t stand Gus and itโ€™s great to see him gone (just need channel 9 to wake up now) but he definitely did a good job in turning the club around.

He didnโ€™t win them the competition but they were a shambles when he got there. Itโ€™s a shame his ego is so big and he needed to be such a control freak, otherwise maybe they mightโ€™ve made the grand final last year (and ultimately lost to the Roosters).

Griffin must be having a good chuckle. Itโ€™s funny that Gus sacked Cleary years ago after they obviously fell out, even though Penrith had half their roster injured and plenty of excuses for performing poorly after making the prelims the year before, and now Clearyโ€™s return results in the departure of Gus lmao.

  4. 80kms in a straight line of juniors from Katoomba to Blacktown still has not saved this useless club from being a force, even with such a great football brain as Phil Gould he can’t get them a premiership. I think with all the Riches Penrith posses with a variety of successful clubs including the massive popular Panthers Leagues Club. The Financial Giant is about to be awoken, trying to produce a team of local juniors to win a premiership is totally a waste of time and effort. Its back to the purchasing a comp drawing board. Phill Gould has proven locally produced comps are things of ancient history. ๐Ÿ“ โ›ˆ

  5. So last year in 2018, when the ‘Riff were certainties semi final bound and red hot premiership contenders, Gould and the ‘Riff Board saw fit to offer Gould a 5 year deal to stick around, enjoy the hard work and win a premiership …fast forward 7 months and the “Riff have a new coach who has no moral face and battling to score points from their million dollar halfback, are struggling to win games and Gould says its time to go as he has achieved everything @ “Riff….mate your team have gone backwards, why are you jumping ship?..or more likely has Iv pushed you!

So there you have the Penrith Chocolate Soldiers best backline and no locally home grown produced products. Just like every other team they buy players. Got that ChocolateSoldierOfDivide.
