Let the bickering begin!
Maybe not, given the win in origin 2.
That said, and I wasn’t overly critical of the squad pre origin 2, but I didn’t think it was the best squad we could field then, and I’m still not convinced it is now.
Purely on ability, I’d still have Mitchell over Wighton in the centres, even after his on field performance in origin 1, but if there are other (behind the scenes) reasons to leave him out, then fair enough.
I’d have Klemmar back in given he’s available, and that’s probably about it.
Good to see Radley there to carry Cameron Murray’s bags his week even th though not in the 17.
360 doing the rooster night again with CV pooper cronk for the 50th time.
ZZZZZzzzzzzz
Here’s to hoping Cleary gets injured again, team looked a whole lot better without him in game 2.
Mitchell was the origin player in that grubby video when the NSW team arrived in Brisbane for the first game, that leaked video really affected him and word has it Fittler was not impressed with him, even though it happened when Mitchell was playing under 20’s footy, nice cover up by Easts i reckon, and better cover up by NSW who were able to hide who it was, does answer some questions has to why Mitchell went bad and lack of support from Fittler didn’t help.
I still don’t rate Fittler, he got lucky last game, Qld didn’t come to play , and hope that happens again, my only question here is , if your club could sign Safiti or Klemmer for the same money , who would you like to have? Klemmer tough it out under the most hardest curcimstances at Brisbane and should have been shown loyaly, don’t get me wrong Safiti was good, I just think Fittler could have thought more about it, doesn’t send a good message to Klemmer.
Klemmer missing is ludicrous, thereโs sticking loyal and plain stupidity. Whereโs the loyalty to klemmer? He was out with a broken wrist.m not dropped on form, certainly not like sims or Saifiti set the world alight, would much prefer klemmer and haas. Yeah haas didnโt have to greatest origin 1, but heโs young and wouldnโt of fully understood. Heโd be primed now to rip in. And if Cleary is out and they start graham ( which is fine) and gutho is on the bench weโll freddy has lost the plot.
Nothing against gutho but heโs just not there yet, so many others should be in front of him
Gutho is there pure for his utility value.
I plays bloody good footy at fullback, in the centres, on the wing or the halves and always gives it 100%
With Peachy so out of form Guth is definitely worth having there for his utility value and wouldn’t let anyone down.
You say so many other should be in front of him. How about naming all these others that should be in front of him?
Klemmer should be there as he is our best forward but seeing as he played on the weekend with pain killer injections just to get through a club game, it would be a gamble taking him into a SOO match like that.
Simms and Saifiti will do the job. Our bench rotation was superb in game 2.
I am not a big fan of Jack Wighton but he played a hell of a lot better in game 2 than Mitchell did in game 1.
Watching Mitchell play on the weekend shows why he was dropped.
He is uninterested or distracted and you can’t take someone like that into a crucial SOO decider.
Go and watch the replay and anytime he got the ball he would just pass to someone else instead of powering through like he use to do.
He reminds me a bit of Hayne. He can set the world on fire but when he isn’t interested you would be better off with a blind 3 legged dog on the field.
Cleary shouldn’t be there even if fit.
He is a very good defensive half but that’s about it.
If he is ruled out with his injury I think Wighton will go to 6 and King Guth to the centres.
The same team got the job done in the wet in game 2 so why make changes unless they are forced through injury or suspension.
All this garbage about QLD not turning up in game 2 is crap. QLD always turn up.
NSW were to good for them. Our forwards and our bench rotation destroyed theirs which allowed our backs to run riot and I am expecting the same in game 3.
If it’s a dry track the score will be much greater.
I think Mitchell’s form decline was mainly due to 2 family deaths in quick succession around the time of Origin 1, and that was the reason why he travelled back to Taree to go to the funeral. Not so much the video.
Disagree Penso. Saw the video and I am convinced it wasn’t Mitchell. I think Jior1800 is closer to the mark with the deaths in the kids family affecting his game.
Personally I think Klemmer should be in the team, but not at the expense of Saifiti, but rather in for Sims. That said, Fittler has stuck with the team that dominated Queensland in game 2, so it is hard to argue with that as well.
Wighton is in the starting line-up and Peachey is totally out of form. Whilst Gutho is not a walk up rep player in any given position, he is there for his utility value from the bench as Kev has said. He can cover an injury anywhere in the backline if needed, and if there are no backline injuries he will come on and play in the middle, where he has been good for Parra this year, prepared to do the hard work and his support play is good. Would he be in my team? No. But I can see why he is there.
i think you get more grunt, leadership and effort out of Klemmer than Safiti, but Safiti came in and “did a job” in the front Row, which is all Freddy wanted. ( seems to be the buzz word now days. )
I worry that if the QLD pack fires up, you’d need someone like Klemmer to lead them up front to counter their aggression.
also, are we going to start Vaughan on the bench again for Jake Trbojevic and do that whole shuffle again?
I certainly never called for Mitchell to be back so quite happy he isnโt.
But gutho just isnโt up to it and certainly canโt okay in the middle so he is there purely for an injury to a back.
Iโd much prefer wade graham just covering the utility role and have the extra prop like klemmer or haas.
Graham covers centr halves and if need be would be turbo to a wing if required.
Just feel gutho wonโt get a run unless an injury
I don’t think anyone would choose Gutho over Graham for the bench spot, but that isn’t the decision that is being made. If Gutho takes a bench spot it will be because Graham is in the starting line-up.
Klemmer’s in so everyone just chill and enjoy the show
I think Sims getting off was a long shot (it wasn’t late but high contact is high contact) so Freddy did him a favor by picking him in the NSW side. Now he misses that Origin game but no club games
Oops I got that wrong didn’t I I thought the Dragons had the bye
