Cronulla prop Aaron Woods has suffered a suspected broken foot during his side's loss to the Eels on Saturday night.

The 28-year old came off the ground at the start of the second half and did not return, with scans set to determine the extent of the damage.

"He's in a boot at the moment … he felt something pop," Sharks coach John Morris told reporters post-match.

"We've just got to get it scanned and get it checked but we just can't get any luck at the moment with injuries.

"… They (medical staff) need to rule out a fracture, they're worried about a fracture.

"He's on crutches and in a boot so it's not a good sign."

A minor break could see Woods only miss four weeks of footy, while something more severe could sideline him for as long as three months.

Woods' injury adds to a growing list of casualties at Cronulla, including Matt Moylan (high-grade hamstring strain), Paul Gallen (ribs), Shaun Johnson (quadriceps tightness) and Josh Dugan (concussion).
