James Roumanos

The Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs have signed young Cronulla Sharks forward James Roumanos on a three-year deal.

The youngster will be contracted at the Dogs until the end of the 2021 season after making the switch across from the shire.

Roumanos will join the Belmore team after winning a premiership with the Sharks' Jersey Flegg team who beat the Penrith Panthers in their Grand Final.

The 19-year-old featured in the 2017 NSW Combined Catholic Colleges team and was last year selected in the Australian Schoolboys team.

Roumanos has also represented NSW in the Under 18's Origin team against Queensland.

The rising forward is the grandson of former Canterbury player Kevin Brown, who played in the centres and back row for the club in 1955.

Brown spent nine years at the Bulldogs before departing the club at the end of the 1963 season.

Bulldogs Recruitment Manager Warren McDonnell says the club is excited to see what Roumanos has to offer.

"He's a big, strong young player with a great work ethic who plays long minutes. We as a club are very excited to see his progression towards first grade over the next few seasons," McDonnell told the club's website.
