Dragons trio Ben Hunt (cork), Jack de Belin (hip pointer) and Tariq Sims (cork) are all racing the clock to be fit for Origin I after injuring themselves their team's 28-2 loss to Penrith.

The three all failed to run out the game after hurting themselves during the second half, with Hunt and de Belin re-agravating injuries from previous weeks, but St George Illawarra coach Paul McGregor expects them all to get up for Origin selection.

“(Hunt) got a bump in the leg and Tariq got a bump in the leg,” McGregor told Fox Sports.

“They were affected but won’t be in any doubt for selection or when we play next.

“Jack de Belin re-injured an injury that he’s already got but I’d say he’d be okay too.”

Hunt revealed post-match that he tried to come back onto the field, but his body would not allow it.

“It’s not too bad, it’s got a pretty bad cork in there,” Hunt told Fox Sports.

“I tried to free it up a bit at halftime but I just couldn’t get it going.

“If I am picked (for Queensland) I think I’ll be pretty right (to play).

“It’s 10 or so days from now and it’s only a cork so hopefully I get it right.”
