Melbourne Storm hooker Harry Grant has become one of the league's biggest players intending to test the open market on November 1st.

The Australian representative is signed to Melbourne until the end of 2028; however, a contract clause could make him a free agent in 2027 if activated.

With Grant's experience, he is a catch for rival clubs if they can secure his services.

Grant has not ruled out staying at the Storm, but if the club cannot match the bids of those wanting Grant, he might be leaving the Melbourne-based side.

A move to the Perth Bears has been formally ruled out, with Grant not wishing to stand in the way of former teammate Tyran Wishart, who has signed a multi-year contract with the NRL's newest club.

3. Brisbane Broncos

Signing with the Brisbane Broncos could represent a chance for Grant to return to his home state and link with representative teammates such as Reece Walsh and Patrick Carrigan.

Long-term prospect at hooker, Blake Mozer has been subject to rumours as of late regarding him potentially exploring options and leaving Brisbane. If Mozer were to part with the club, it could open the door for Grant to join and not worry about getting in the way of young prodigies.

Other hookers Cory Paix and Billy Walters are also off-contract for 2028, leaving the Broncos to decide whether to extend either of the two or engage in talks with Grant for his services.

It would be ridiculous for the Broncos to let go of Walters with the form he has been in despite injury. The Broncos seem to be one of the clubs where it would make the most sense to play at Grant. A Queensland-born representative with experience and chemistry with many present club players.
