With November 1 now less than two months away, NRL clubs will be scrambling to get their best players locked away before they hit the open market and fetch interest from elsewhere.
On this week's episode of the NRL Contract Show, Zero Tackle editor Scott Pryde listed seven key retention targets across the competition who could be in demand if they remain unsigned by November 1.

Pryde: "To me, he's Cronulla's most important player at the moment outside of Braydon Trindall. He's so solid on the edge and you know what you're going to get out of him every week. To me, it's a no-brainer for Cronulla to basically offer him a blank cheque, because he's that important. Cronulla's salary cap is stretched, but they do lose (Sione) Katoa and Jesse Ramien, which has obviously free up a little bit of cash. To me, they just need to find a way to get it done."
