Canterbury Bulldogs half Sean O'Sullivan's odds of being in the English Super League at the start of 2027 appear to be narrowing, with the playmaker linked to the Bradford Bulls.
The Bulldogs half was first linked with a move to England a couple of weeks ago, but made it clear it wasn't on his priority list to move around the world.
It has been a tricky year for O'Sullivan, who has impressed whenever handed the opportunity to play, but has otherwise been off the bench or in reserve grade.
"Ideally I'd love to be starting... I'm really confident in what I can bring to a team and especially at the Bulldogs," he said to ESPN.
"I'm not really sure [where I'll be playing] to be honest," he added.
"Obviously I'm super happy here and I love being at the Bulldogs.
"That [the Super League move] was all news to me."
It was understood in July that multiple clubs were interested in the playmaker, but a fresh report from Love Rugby League claims the Bradford Bulls are closing in on securing his signature.
The club currently sit at the bottom of the Super League and while in years gone by that would have meant relegation back to the Championship, the new structure of the Super League means they will remain in the top flight and are scheduled to play in Las Vegas next year - O'Sullivan was part of the Bulldogs squad for that game against the Dragons this year.
The Bulldogs, who have shuffled Stephen Crichton into the halves alongside Lachlan Galvin in recent weeks, have seemingly made it clear that there is no room for O'Sullivan in the starting side, and while other NRL clubs could have made a play, the Bradford move appears to be done.
The caveat will be that he needs approval from the Super League to be an overseas player in the competition given he has played less than 50 per cent of first-grade fixtures over the previous two seasons.
O'Sullivan would be the second NRL player joining the club for 2027, with John Bateman having already done so.
