The Parramatta Eels have confirmed the extension for five-eighth Ronald Volkman for two more seasons, taking his time out west to the end of the 2028 season.
Volkman has been one of the highest improved players in the competition this year and established himself as a key contributor to the Eels' attacking flair.
The 24-year-old half was without a deal for next year and looking likely to be a free agent following the conclusion of Parramatta's season after next week.
The club has come to an agreement to have him remain at the Eels as halves depth, with a likely combination of Jarome Luai and Mitchell Moses set to make up the six and seven for next year.
It was believed the Canterbury Bulldogs were heavily interested in his services.
In his 18 appearances this year, Volkman has scored eight tries, forced eight drop outs, recorded ten try assists and engineered an upset win in the club's latest match against Cronulla, scoring one of the best solo tries of the year.

Volkman's sharp playmaking skills earned him a Samoan international debut in the Pacific Championships in 2023, the year he made his NRL debut with the New Zealand Warriors.
The Eels shared the moment Volkman signed his fresh deal with their fans on social media, saying he is grateful for the love shown by the passionate fan base.
"I can't wait to play in front of you guys, the best fan base I've played in front of," Volkman said.
"All love to my fans out there, supporters for the club, I've got nothing but love for you guys, and I'm excited for the next two years."
Parramatta Eels head of football Mark O'Neill said Volkman's extension was thoroughly deserved with the performances he's been displaying throughout 2026.
"The positive environment which Jason Ryles has created at the Club has provided some stability for Ronald where he is playing his best football of his career," O'Neill said in a club statement.
"He has earned this opportunity with some wonderful individual and team performances, and he will only continue to improve."
Volkman has been named in the Eels' final match of the year against the Dragons in Wollongong on Sunday afternoon.
