Manly Sea Eagles product Cooper Elkins has re-signed with the club through to the end of 2028.
A talented young fullback who can also play on the wing, Elkins was part of the SG Ball squad at the Sea Eagles this year who made it to within a single win of the grand final, with the competition eventually taken out by the Sydney Roosters.
While he finished the season on the wing in the under 19s competition, he had some strong performances at fullback early in the campaign, and has since gone on to debut at Jersey Flegg level.
The under 21s competition hbas been a step up for Elkins, although he hasn't looked out of place and will continue to grow his gamne in the coming two years on the Northern Beaches.
His management have confirmed a new contract through to the end of 2028 on what is a two-year extension, with the time ahead to prove pivotal in the long-term career prospects of Elkins, who could progress into Manly's development squad or beyond with strong performances.
At this stage, it's believed Elkins is remaining on a pathways deal with Manly for the next couple of years.
The emerging talent will have opportunities in Manly's backline over the coming years if he continues improving at the rate he has to date.
Manly lose Reuben Garrick at the end of this year, while Tom Trbojevic is closer to the end of his career than the start of it.
The Sea Eagles do have an excellent crop of talent in their first-grade set up to cover the outside backs, with Lehi Hopoate and Tolutau Koula leading the way, but Elkins could well be on the radar down the track if he follows his current trajectory.
