South Sydney Rabbitohs have provided an injury update on Euan Aitken after the Bunnies' 50-20 win over the Sydney Roosters on Friday evening, with the forward leaving the field after a suspected shoulder injury.

The club confirmed that Aitken fractured his scapula and will miss the remainder of the season.

The expected return of the 31-year-old is around three to four months, meaning he will miss the start of the pre-season for 2027 too, but should be back well ahead of the pre-season trials kicking off in February.

Aitken signed with the Rabbitohs at the end of 2024 from the Dolphins, having spent time at the St George Illawarra Dragons and New Zealand Warriors prior to that.

Aitken has been an experienced and reliable forward for Souths, providing consistency and defensive work on the edge. 

The former Dolphins player has only played one finals match in his career, in his rookie year at the St George Illawarra Dragons. The devastating injury has meant that he will once again miss out on finals.

Euan Aitken finished his season with the South Sydney Rabbitohs with 18 appearances, six tries, 534 tackles at 95.9% tackle efficiency and 1,814 running metres. 

After an impressive season, Aitken will undergo his recovery for next season. The forward is signed with the club until the end of the 2027 season.
