Oryn Keeley has opened up about his time at the Melbourne Storm as the young forward embraces his opportunity to work under the club's successful system.

Keeley originally signed with the Melbourne side in December 2025 on a two-year deal for the 2027 and 2028 seasons, after making six appearances in the opening part of the Dolphins' 2026 season. The Redcliffe club granted Keeley an early release to join the Storm in June 2026.

Keeley spoke about moving down to Melbourne and finding his feet. The forward said, “It's a great club, good people, so can't complain”.

“Adapting to all new people, they've already got an opinion on you, so coming and just being you”.

The forward highlighted his experience with Craig Bellamy and expressed his love for the coach, “He's good; I just love that he's so passionate”. Keeley has also started to build connections with some of the Melbourne stars, including Cameron Munster.

“He's a character, great to play with. First game played with him on the weekend, so that was really fun.”

Keeley spoke about what he was looking to get out of his time in Melbourne and his goals for his career. The forward said, “I want to become a consistent first-grader, first of all. Once I do that and earn the respect from the players… the goal is to play for the Blues and Kangaroos”.

The goal of winning a premiership with the Melbourne Storm is a high priority for Keeley, he said. “That's one of the biggest things I want to do in my career and to Melbourne, that's why I've come here because they've got such a rich history and I want to be a part of that”.

Keeley briefly spoke about the coaching situation after Craig Bellamy steps away at the end of the 2027 season.

“Whoever it is, we will have trust in the club that they will pick the right man for the job”.
