The Newcastle Knights have officially announced that six players from their 2018 squad will depart the club.

Halfback Jack Cogger and fullback Nick Meaney are set to join the Bulldogs next season, while five-eighth Brock Lamb is reportedly heading to the Roosters.

"It's a funny emotion," Cogger told newcastleknights.com.au.

"I enjoyed all my time here at the Knights.

"It's been a hard couple of years, but I've learnt a lot. I can't thank the Club enough for what they've done for me over the last few years.

"I'm really going to miss the fans."

Veterans Chris Heighington and Jacob Lillyman are hanging up the boots and Pat Mata'utia has not been offered a new contract.

"It's been a long career and a special 12 months here," Lillyman said.

"Lots of fond memories.

"During the week there was a lot of lasts, last gym session with the boys, last training session. It's a bit surreal but I've picked a good place to finish off, that's for sure."
