Canberra winger Nick Cotric has been charged by the NRL match review committee, and is facing up to four matches on the sidelines.

Cotric was sent off following his tackle on Tim Lafai in the Raiders' win over the Dragons on Sunday, becoming the first player to be sent in 2019.

Cotric was charged with a grade-three dangerous charge, and can miss three matches if he takes the early plea. He'll miss four if he contests the charge and loses.

Canberra will have until 12pm on Tuesday to make a decision on whether or not they'll contest Cotric's charge.
