An electrical storm in Denver has kept the Warriors and other players in the US, delaying their flight home for another day.

The players, following on from the Denver test against England, were expected to fly home on Sunday - but players have taken to social media to say the bad weather has them stuck there.

Kiwis winger Jamayne Isaako posted video footage on social media of fellow players camping out at the Denver International Airport, captioning "we just wanna go home".

The delay could potentially affect an injury-hit Warriors for Friday's home game against the Cronulla Sharks.

The team are looking to fly out of Denver on Monday afternoon (Tuesday NZ time), which will push back Stephen Kearney's decision-making towards which players to rest.

"They don't get back until tomorrow afternoon, which means we don't get a look at them until Wednesday and they won't run until Thursday.

"So it's one of those weeks this week and we've got to see how it pans out."

Both David Fusitu'a and Solomone Kata, who weren't able to play for Tonga against Samoa on the weekend, are both recovering from injuries, neither fully participating at training on Monday night.

"It's not ideal, but it's not something that anyone can be blamed for," Warriors CEO Cameron George said.

Due to the now-quick turnaround, Kearney may be forced to press the Warriors contingent into action, regardless of rest needed; without them, it may leave the Warriors badly exposed against the Sharks.
