Departing St George Illawarra Dragons forward Blake Lawrie is understood to have signed a three-year deal with English Super League side the York Knights.
Lawrie was earlier this week confirmed as a departure from the Dragons at the end of this year.
His expiring contract was never likely to be picked up by the Red V, who are in the midst of one of the all-time roster clean outs.
The Dragons have already confirmed the departures of Damien Cook, Mathew Feagai, Emre Guler, Nathan Lawson, Luciano Leilua, Tyrell Sloan and Jaydn Su'A from their Top 30 to go with Lawrie's now confirmed exit.
Hame Sele remains off-contract and is unlikely to have his time extended at the joint-venture, while Christian Tuipulotu's future remains up in the air.
It comes as recruitment boss Daniel Anderson and head coach Dean Young have managed to re-sign seven up and coming forwards in Ryan and Toby Couchman, Dylan Egan, Hamish Stewart, Jacob Halangahu, Loko Pasifiki Tonga and, as exclusively revealed by Zero Tackle last week but not yet confirmed by the club, Jacob Webster.
In addition, the club will also welcome six new signings in 2027, with Scott Drinkwater, Keaon Koloamatangi, Luke Metcalf, Kodi Nikorima, Phillip Sami and Connor Watson all joining the outfit.
The Dragons couldn't afford to keep Lawrie even if they wanted to as a result of the off-field moves, and ESPN are now reporting the departing veteran prop, who has struggled to keep himself in the first-grade side this year, will make the move to England.
It's understood Lawrie, now 29 years of age, has signed a three-year deal with the York Knights.
It will make him the second NRL forward to join the club in 2027, with Cronulla Sharks departure Cameron McInnes also finally revealed as a York player from the start of next year this week.
Lawrie, who would have done well to feature in any best 19 at NRL level this year, will depart the Dragons with 171 NRL games under his belt, with the prop named to start one last time for his local club this weekend.
The Wollongong-born Dapto Canaries junior made his Dragons debut back in 2017 and has been a permanent part of the club since, with his best years coming around the turn of the decade.
