The St George Illawarra Dragons have confirmed prop Blake Lawrie will leave the club at the end of the season.

Whispers of Lawrie's departure emerged late last month, with the 29-year-old linked with a potential move to the Super League.

His next destination remains unknown, with Lawrie set to move on from the Dragons after spending his entire NRL career at the club.

The 29-year-old is a Dragons junior, coming through the club's academy after playing his junior football with the Dapto Canaries before making his NRL debut in 2017.

He has gone on to make 170 NRL appearances for the Red V across ten seasons, including ten games this year.

Lawrie enjoyed his most impressive season in 2023, averaging a career-high 135 running metres per game while making 680 tackles at 94 per cent efficiency.

His efforts that season saw him claim the Dragons Medal, the Red V Members Player of the Year and the Community Involvement Award.

The Dragons confirmed his departure on Sunday evening.

“The St George Illawarra Dragons can confirm that Blake Lawrie will be departing the club come season's end,” they released on Sunday evening.

“A Dapto Canaries junior, Lawrie came through the Dragons Academy & debuted for the club in 2017, going on to make 170 appearances across 10 seasons.

“Thank you for all you've done for our club & community, Blocka”

The Dragons will confirm via their team list release on Tuesday whether Lawrie will take the field for them one last time on Sunday when they host the Parramatta Eels.

He will be farewelled alongside multiple other departing teammates as the Dragons prepare to revamp their squad ahead of the 2027 season including Jasais Ah Kee (Perth Bears), Asher Chapman (Perth Bears), Damien Cook (Castleford Tigers), Mathew Feagai (Castleford Tigers), Emre Guler (Wakefield Trinity), Nathan Lawson (released), Luciano Leilua (Catalans Dragons), Tyrell Sloan (Castleford Tigers) and Jaydn Su'A (Parramatta Eels).

Hame Sele, Christian Tuipulotu and Leeroy Weatherall remain the final three Dragons without a contract for 2027.
