Despite reports on Saturday suggesting Wayne Bennett was guaranteed to remain at the Broncos for the 2019 season, the Sydney Morning Herald understand the swap deal between Brisbane and South Sydney could still be on.

The Rabbitohs are still hopeful Bennett will make the switch to South Sydney for next season, and are waiting for an official answer from Bennett later in the week.

According to SMH, Anthony Seibold is prepared to join the Broncos immediately, with the club just waiting on Bennett’s decision before pulling the trigger.

The swap move has been an on again, off again saga, but finally looks set to be resolved one way or another later this week.

The Bunnies are confident however that if Bennett does remain at Red Hill, Seibold will be able to re-join Souths and coach out the final year of his deal without any hassle or division from the playing group.

South Sydney players are set to return to the club’s headquarters on Monday, which is one of the main reasons they have been patient with the whole saga.

    It’s a Mad House! A Maaaaaad House!

The Broncos are being run like a circus πŸŽͺ🎑 ATM being run by 🀑 🀑 🀑

Bennett has always said “I’m here in 2019 unless I’m told otherwise”. So bl00dy tell him otherwise, pay him out and make the choice for him. The Broncos seriously need to grow some pineapples! 🍍🍍

    • I can see an under the table offer about to occur very soon if this story is correct. Looks like the PacKman and Romper stomper are off to the bankπŸ”πŸ“πŸ”πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€‘πŸ€‘πŸ€‘πŸ€‘πŸ€‘πŸ€‘πŸ€‘πŸ€‘πŸ’²πŸ’²πŸ’²πŸ’²πŸ’²

  2. I give up, every day there is some other story regarding this coaching saga. If this swap does not occur for next year, the media is going to have a field day with it all season, to the detriment of both clubs and supporters. You are right Reg, the Broncos need to pull the trigger on Wayne and end this fiasco, fair dink-um!! 🀯🀯

      • True, you guys deserve a break from all of the stuff you have had to endure. Hopefully Des can bring some stability to Manly, although if I was a Manly supporter I would have probably preferred Tooves instead of Des, but time will tell.

        • they don’t need a break from it, they have been dishing it out for long enough that karma has come and bitten them on a$$. πŸ€—πŸ€—

    • Why are Soufths so desperate to entice this old washed up coach who ran out of defensive ideas 3 or 4 years ago in such a hurry to ruin their club❓❔❓❔❓❓Personally I’m loving this front seat grand stand view of Soufths self destructing. But it leaves me wondering just maybe to save the foundation club of 2002 πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ shouldn’t they buy the parra play book in how to sack Fitzgeralds. Somebody up high at Souths needs to be fired for going after a coach with a reputation rather than formπŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ₯„πŸ₯„πŸ₯„πŸ₯„

      • Souths currently the oldest club playing NRL in history made the right decision in signing Bennett , why everybody puts him down is a mystery, woody i reckon your jealous cause Bennett rejected your club years ago when he realised that going to Easts would ruin his self respect, even then money couldn’t talk him into it, says a lot about Easts hey!!

        • Russ the Rooster: Well penso my old chum it’s so sad to see one of my fellow rabbit supporters bagging our bitter rivals the wonderful Roosters who have an equally proud history as our team penso.

It should be noted old bean that our bunnies had to forgo their title as the oldest team in the premiership when they could simply no longer compete with the impeccable financial management of the greatly superior Roosters, our bitter rivals, who make my feathers tingle… I meant my fur twitch with excitement… no I meant with disgust and loathing.

I guess Souths will have to accept that they are no longer the oldest team in the competition even though they are still the BEST. Hey, Reg is putting words in my mouth. I resent that violation of my person Reg.

          Reg: close enough penso? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

        • They weren’t “booted out” for anywhere near as long as your “Teddy Bears” 🐻🐼 Kelpie. 🐢

There is a whole new generation that has never even heard of the “Teddy Bears” but still remember Souths lifting the trophy in 2014.

        • If Glebe were to come back into the NRL they would be the oldest club in the NRL, if two teams were to start together 100 years ago and one team were to play in all semi finals and finals each year and the other not, would that make the team who has played more games older? of course not fool, Kelby get a life

  3. I’m glad they didn’t pay Bennett a single cent more, he shouldn’t be able to double dip at the Bronc’s expense just because he was shunned an extension. If Souths don’t want Seibold, then why don’t the Bronc’s do a Barrett , just take him now and make Bennett sit out a year. That will get the petulant child on the move !

  4. I really think you blokes should get your ASS down to Rabbitohs training and see for yourselves!
