Veteran Roosters forward Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has been unsuccessful in his bid to have a Grade One charge for dangerous contact downgraded.
The Kiwi was cited for high and late contact on Knights star Kalyn Ponga during the 58th minute of the tri-colours trip to Newcastle, and will now miss the next two weeks.
The Roosters host the Penrith Panthers at the SCG on Sunday, and as well as Waerea-Hargreaves, could be without a handful of their Origin stars following Wednesday night's State of Origin opener in Brisbane.
His replacement for this round will be named on Saturday afternoon when the club cuts their squad to 19.
